Inclusive Food & Body Counseling

Pathways to Embodiment

Pathways to Embodiment offers supportive options beyond one-on-one counseling for those seeking to deepen their relationship with food and their bodies at their own pace. These offerings are designed for people who want ongoing support, structure, or gentle guidance, whether they are exploring embodiment for the first time or continuing work they have already begun.

Some people come here because they are curious about mindfulness and embodiment practices. Others are looking for accessible, self-guided nutrition resources they can return to between sessions or when ongoing nutrition care is not available. Each pathway is grounded in compassion, lived experience, and time-tested practices that support steadiness, awareness, and nourishment in everyday life.

Lost in Thought, Found in Breath is a weekly virtual shamata vipashyana meditation space for people who are curious about building a meditation practice and have struggled to start or sustain one in the past. This group is held in community and offered virtually, creating space to slow down, practice stillness, and deepen interoceptive awareness in a supportive setting. Think of it as a rest, digest, and reset part of your day.

This offering is especially supportive for those drawn to intuitive eating and embodiment work, including neurodivergent folks who crave gentler, less judgmental ways of connecting with themselves. The group explores how meditation practice parallels recovery and nourishment work, including how stress, good and bad body days, and mental habits can pull us out of balance and how we can return with care.

How it works:

Participants are asked to attend or complete an introductory class before joining the weekly group. Ongoing participation is encouraged, as consistency supports the greatest benefit. A quiet, private space to practice is recommended.

What this group includes:

  • Weekly 60-minute virtual gatherings
  • Guided shamata vipashyana meditation
  • Group discussion and reflection
  • Support building a sustainable, realistic meditation practice
  • Space to explore how meditation supports nourishment, regulation, and embodiment

What people often experience:

  • Increased capacity to sit with the mind without getting hooked by it
  • Stronger interoceptive awareness in support of intuitive eating
  • Greater steadiness during stress and challenging moments
  • A sense of connection and resonance through shared practice

This group is designed to feel accessible, human, and supportive. It is a space for people who have struggled with meditation in the past and are looking for a practice that meets them where they are.

Self-Guided Support

Foundations you can return to, on your own time.

These self-guided Paths were created for people who want access to Sophia’s nutrition education and embodiment tools but may not be able to commit to ongoing one-on-one care due to time, insurance coverage, or finances. They are also often used alongside individual sessions, helping make time together more focused and supportive.

Each Path is self-paced and designed to be approached with curiosity rather than perfection. The intention is not to “get it right,” but to build understanding, awareness, and steadiness over time. If access or pricing feels like a barrier, Sophia invites you to reach out to explore options that may help make this support more accessible.
